Disembraining Songs

The Recordist/Surrealist Record Label

Still haven't got 'round to filling in the details here. Eventually, this page will have a complete history of Disembraining Songs and that of its founder and operator W.A.Davison, including his involvement in the underground of music making, publishing, distribution, and networking.

In the meantime, let's just say that Disembraining Songs is a small record label that began life in the early 90's as a cassette label called Anathema, became the cassette label Disembraining Songs sometime in the mid 90's (actually the two labels co-existed for awhile but we'll get into that later), and almost ceased to exist entirely in the late 90's. Now, with the availability of new recording technologies and distribution mediums (CD-Rs, MP3s, the internet) and some interesting new audio projects (and a few of the old ones too), we find our interests in D.I.Y. music production and distribution revived. And so Disembraining Songs is back! (If it ever really went away).

If you're wondering what the "Recordist/Surrealist" thing is all about, then you should visit Recordism on the Web and, more specifically, The Recordists.
